چکیده
With the increasing improvement of national ecological standards, eco-environmental problems caused by super thick coal seam mining in western China are becoming more and serious. The failure law weak overburden stratum is an important factor affecting safe coal. characteristics weakly cemented under high-intensity area were studied. For this purpose, a case study was conducted 1101 working face Baituyao Coal Mine Ürümqi County. Based on analysis geological conditions area, we combined empirical calculations with engineering analogy, physical simulation, numerical simulation to comprehensively analyze mining-induced failure. showed that had several unfavorable characteristics, including ease softening presence water. Middle Jurassic Xishanyao Formation directly recharged aquifer water-retaining property. Overburden mainly occurred at two ends open-off cut. During process, vertical fissures bed-separated periodically developed closed, interconnected. fractured, fractured zone trapezoidal shape, tapering off from bottom top. heights caving water-conducting fracture 25 280 m, respectively, Mine, ratio fracturing height 14.0. Due Neogene aquifer, risk water sand bursts still exists mining. Our findings shed light environmental protection ground surface mine shafts China.

Reduction of Stress Acting on a Thick, Deep Coal Seam by Protective-Seam Mining
Aiming to reduce the high mining stress observed in large-space roof structures during mechanized mining of thick coal seams, a control technique based on protective-seam mining is proposed. This technique was used to investigate the 8108 working face of the No. 3–5 thick coal seam of the Tashan mine located in the Datong area of Shanxi, China, by means of simulations and field measurements. Th...
متن کاملCharacteristics of Strata Behavior during Thick Seam Mining by Fully-Mechanized Top Coal Caving in a Loess-Covered Gullied Region
This study systematically investigates the overburden movement and strata behavior at a fully-mechanized top coal caving (FMTCC) face in a thick coal seam in a loess-covered gullied region by field measurement and theoretical analysis. A comparative analysis was performed to examine how the attitude of surface gullies and the structure of overburden affect face support resistance. The character...
متن کاملPopulation Cancer Risks Associated with Coal Mining: A Systematic Review
BACKGROUND Coal is produced across 25 states and provides 42% of US energy. With production expected to increase 7.6% by 2035, proximate populations remain at risk of exposure to carcinogenic coal products such as silica dust and organic compounds. It is unclear if population exposure is associated with increased risk, or even which cancers have been studied in this regard. METHODS We perform...
متن کاملA Case Study of Coal Resource Evaluation in the Canadian Rockies Using Digital Terrain Models
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the large-scale structure, and hence available reserves, of the Lower Cretaceous Luscar Formation near Mountain Park, in the Foothills of Alberta. Coal resource evaluation clearly requires information on the mineable tonnages, as well as the grade, of the coal strata. In open pit mining, the volume of coal economically extracted from a seam is directly ...
متن کاملAnalysis on Filling Ratio and Shield Supporting Pressure for Overburden Movement Control in Coal Mining with Compacted Backfilling
Since the weight of overburden is sustained by both the backfill body and the unmined solid coal in coal mining with compacted backfilling (CMCB) panels, the stress and deformation characteristics of the surrounding rocks in coal mining are radically changed. The overburden movement control mechanism by coordinating with backfill body and shield in CMCB was studied systematically in this paper....
